Today, let’s give for girls’ mental health.
“The most important topic for me was digital wellness. It helped to talk about my own issues, relate to other girls with similar problems, and think about solutions together.” – 14-year-old Task Force participant

It’s sink-or-swim time for girls.
Why? The studies are adding up, and the results are deeply distressing.
- By their mid-teens, girls are twice as likely to be diagnosed with a mood disorder (such as depression or anxiety) than boys.
- Girls ages 12-17 are attempting suicide at a 50 percent higher rate than before the pandemic.
- Teens needing hospitalization for eating disorders doubled in the Bay Area during the pandemic.
And social media app companies like Facebook are not interested in helping solve this problem, even when it’s made public.
We’ll use your gift to engage hundreds of girls to learn digital wellness skills to improve their mental health — not just in the Bay Area, but across the United States.
Make your gift today, and get About-Face on our way to reaching girls across the country.
