Requirements and skills:

  • Whip-smart problem solver and independent thinker, oriented toward action
  • Very technology-inclined and -adept
  • Super detail-oriented and accustomed to high standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Great at follow-up 
  • Ability to execute a mail merge and manipulate a spreadsheet easily 
  • Experience using a contact database, ideally Salesforce

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Enthusiasm for About-Face’s work and mission
  • Background in light administration of Salesforce org (Lightning in use at About-Face)
  • Experience using Asana or similar project-management tool
  • Past use of MailChimp or other e-mail marketing program using multiple segmented lists

Some of the responsibilities of this role are:

  • Assist with sending paper mailings to donors and school prospects 
  • Preparation/electronic delivery of monthly finance paperwork to bookkeeper
  • Recruit volunteers for weekly office sessions and other events
  • Answer main phone number 
  • Basic technology troubleshooting, customer service/tech support calls
  • Support scheduling, attendance, logistics, and follow-up for small meetings and events:
    • Twice-monthly Intro events, often in the evening
    • Semi-monthly board meetings, including note-taking
    • Workshop Leader trainings
    • Medium-sized donor events
  • Various errands: post office, office supply/copies pickups, etc.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings in person
  • Basic updates and content development of About-Face web site text and images within current design
  • Designing e-mails and segmenting lists
  • Update Salesforce records, run reports
  • Book conference rooms

  • Not a staff/employee role: No benefits included 
  • Location: About-Face office in San Francisco (Mission District near BART) 1-2 days per week and work at home in SF Bay Area remaining time
  • Some flexibility regarding hours
  • Use of your own equipment (computer and other)
