Girls Boycott Limited Brands/Victoria's Secret

As the shopping season begins Limited Brands/Victoria's Secret models are once again trotting the runway in lingerie and spiked heels to inspire women everywhere! Not?! Evidently Limited Brands, who sells fashion and body care products to women, feel they can improve sales with an ad campaign based on male oriented smut. Our culture has many venues for smutty depictions of women, Victoria's Secret has taken it on themselves to add Shopping Malls, Network TV, the Olympics, the Super bowl, and Movies which are advertised to children. Remember, Limited Brands purchased the female lead in Rush Hour 2 and Men in Black II so they could have her strip to her VS underwear and present for male approval. YES, in 2002 Hollywoodís women are still so peripheral that THEY ARE FOR SALE. Imagine the disgust and disappointment of girls and women who paid to see action films then found that in Vickiville schlocky sexualization is the only form of action available to women. (If you purchased the role what would your heroine have done?)
What can you do? We have many choices of where to shop and women control most purchasing decisions. We are 53% of the population. We can choose to shop with retailers who promote active healthy roles for girls and women. Eating is good, plastic surgery not needed, a variety of female shapes are beautiful, vapid vain females who spend their life posing do not constitute ìthe most beautiful womenî, publicly stripping and presenting for male approval does not constitute the ultimate expression of female sexuality, etc. Here are some of the businesses that make up Limited Brands:

Money spent in any of these establishments goes directly into the pockets of skanky old businessmen who use their considerable wealth to aggressively market their
LIMITED VIEWS OF GIRLS and WOMEN.
Remember, make it clear to your men what you would like for gifts and which stores you prefer. And if you find Limited/Victoria's Secret advertising nauseating V-chip CBS, Oxygen and any other networks that feature their schlock, don't sit through it!
