About-Face Yay! Scale Action: The Details
Come to Part 1 of the action on Thursday to make Yay! Scales. The fabulous Ms. Marilyn Wann, author of Fat!So? and activist extraordinaire, will teach us how to “hack” our scales to transform them into tools of empowerment. You will walk away with your very own Yay! Scale to use at the action on Saturday!
On Saturday during Part 2, we’ll “weigh” ourselves and others at Union Square, celebrating each time, and telling the public that we won’t let a number determine our self-worth, no matter what all that advertising says! Bring your scale or help spread the word.

If you are coming to Part 1, please bring:
- Yay! Scale decorations: cool paper, magazines, beads, plastic gems, feathers, sequins, furry fabric
- a pair of scissors
- $20 to help us cover the cost of your scale (provided) and other supplies
If you are coming to Part 2, please bring:
- your new Yay! Scale
- your great attitude
